 Honors College Media Assistant

 September 2025-Present
What I Do

In my role as a Media Assistant, I support the Communications and Events Coordinator in content creation, strategy, and event documentation.

My daily tasks include content idea generation, designing graphics on Canva, and writing community spotlights for our internal and external newsletters.

In October, I organized a photoshoot to give us a new stock of photos to use across all content channels. I also have photographed at the family weekend tailgate, professional development events, and open houses.

Why I Love It

I worked as a Student Office Assistant for two years, but I switched jobs because I wanted to give back to the Honors community in a more tangible and long-lasting way. My Honors experience has changed my life because of the connections I've made, classes I've taken, and confidence it has given me. In this role, I get to combine my passion and love for the Honors College with my creative interest in capturing memories, in this case, of our undergraduate students.

 Best Job Ever!

Study Abroad Information

This was one of the first projects I worked on, and it was a great hands-on lesson for how to use a brand guide and create engaging informational content.

Thanksgiving Post

I came up with idea to put together a "what we're thankful for" post that was created and posted in just two days, using some of the evergreen media I captured. Performance: 12,000+ views and 2,200+ accounts reached.

I started this series to appeal to prospective applicants and tell them why some of our current students decided to pursue an Honors education. Performance: 3,000+ views and 71.8% of views from non-followers.

Giving Day Spotlight

As part of the Honors 2026 Giving Day marketing plan, I was able to write about one of our amazing student employees and his Honors experience.
