Choosing JMU just felt right. It was very difficult to move eight hours away from home at the age of 17, but my family and friends' unwavering support pushed me through. On this page, you can view my initial introduction to marketing, work I produced for my school district, and some of my present-day hobbies and interests outside of marketing.
My Story
My Roots & Who I Am Today
Where it all started: Arlington, Ohio
Media Writing & Yearbook
My introduction to marketing came through three years in my high school’s Media Writing class. Our class managed Arlington Local School District's website and social media platforms, with the goal of creating content that represented our students, events, and town. I wasn’t just completing assignments; I was designing sports graphics, writing news articles about alumni, and editing fun videos that people in my community genuinely cared about.
Senior year, I joined the Yearbook class to challenge myself creatively and was promoted to Senior Editor. At the same time, I became Webmaster, Social Media Manager, and Editor for Media Writing. Suddenly, I was balancing multiple platforms, projects, and teams.
Under my leadership, our audience grew by over 600 followers across all platforms. I also started producing weekly episodes of our student media show that became something the entire town looked forward to. Hearing people talk about our videos, share our posts, and recognize our work made the connection feel real. Below, you can view my earliest work samples that showcase the drive for content creation that I have always had.
Why Marketing:
Managing the school district's digital presence showed me that marketing is about more than just 'posting'—it’s about building a connection. While my focus has shifted from high school graphics to real-world market research, that original love for content creation laid the foundation for all that I do today.

Current Life & Interests
When I'm not working at one of my jobs or on a group project, I'm usually hanging out with my roommates or exploring parts of Harrisonburg I haven't seen yet. Every fall, my friends and I go to Showalter's Orchard at least once and I get my favorite apple cider slushie. I love going to the Saturday Farmer's Market downtown and grabbing coffee at one of the many delicious cafes in town. I'm also a volunteer campus tour guide, so a big part of my Saturday morning routine is to get coffee before I give a tour. My favorite coffee shop is definitely Greenberry's, but I like to switch it up every weekend.
At home, I have three dogs, a younger sister who's in high school, and an older brother who lives in Dayton, Ohio. My family and I bond over movies, cooking, and hockey and football games. Even though we live in Ohio, we are diehard Michigan Wolverines fans (Go Blue) and always will be! I also recently got engaged to my high school sweetheart, so I've been devoting my free time to building up my wedding Pinterest board.
